Our Mission
We are a non-profit Foundation, founded at the end of 2018 in the city of Puerto Williams, on Navarino Island -close to Tierra del Fuego- to serve the citizens and help them thrive.
Our purpose is the promotion of the recovery, preservation, study and spreading of the work and research conducted at the beginning of the 20th century by the German ethnologist Fr. Martín Gusinde, SVD, in collaboration with the Fuegian and other peoples.
As a way of highlighting our natural, tangible and intangible heritage, it is important to understand the social order, language and environment of these peoples through their exploratory voyages, photographic archives, material collections and subsequent publications, as well as their parallel educational work.
Our Vision
Along with fulfilling our mission to study and spread Martín Gusinde's work and research, our vision is that this work and methodology enables a dialogue of history, imagination, culture and ecology among citizens, the local community, and educational areas.
